ze:59px}\nAbout the Seminar\nAs the future fleet of TFL (Transport for Lon
don) buses move over to electric within 10-15 years\, the requirements for
bus garages may change according to the perceived fire risk with the chan
ged fleet. The adoption of Electric vehicles\, however\, introduces new ri
sks into bus garages such as battery technology\, charging technology\, ne
 w operations\, and potential failure modes.\n\nUnfortunately\, standards a
nd guidance\, particularly those which are safety based\, change retrospec
tively following fire incidents and are rarely ready to embrace incoming t
echnology. There is a need to proactively address these issues when consid
ering future developments for an EV Bus Garage. An EV bus garage mainly ac
commodates pure electric buses\, and also serves hybrid electric buses (HE
 V) during a transformation period.\n\nThis CPD session will brief on the c
urrent findings\, such as provide advice and guidance on the emerging best
practice standards\, particularly with regards to the introduction of ele
ctric vehicles. This study focuses on life-safety\, but also gives conside
rations on property and asset protection\, and on environmental protection
.\nSpeaker\nTony Xie – Chartered Engineer of Fire\, Buildings and South
East Division\, Mott MacDonald UK\n\nTony is Chartered Engineer responsibl
e for developing fire safety strategies using appropriate fire codes and t
ailor-made fire engineered solutions to meet stakeholder aspirations and a
chieve cost-effective fire safety design. Familiar with widely accepted le
gislation and standards such as British Standards\, NFPA\, and other local
fire codes in the UK\, Middle East and Hong Kong.\n\nExperienced in utili
sing various fire engineering techniques\, including computational modelli
ng to deliver innovative fire safety solutions.\nDetails\nDate : 16 Sept 2
