 ain types of premises has to obtain a certificate or letter issued by the 
 Director of Fire Services certifying that the premises concerned have comp
 lied with all relevant fire safety requirements and will not expose person
 s therein to any undue risk of fire\, before he/she can be issued a licenc
 e or a similar instrument by the regulatory authorities.  Under the Fire 
 Services Ordinance (Cap. 95)\, the Fire Services Department (“FSD”) is
  the only party vested with the statutory authority to issue fire safety c
 ertification for buildings or premises.\nIn order to facilitate business o
 perations and optimize the use of professional human resources\, the FSD w
 ill introduce a third-party fire safety certification scheme\, namely the 
 Registered Fire Engineer (“RFE”) Scheme\, to leverage professional eng
 ineers and qualified persons in the market for the provision of fire safet
 y risk assessment and certification services.\nThis webinar aims to introd
 uce the RFE Scheme to members of HKIE\, covering topics in relation to reg
 istration requirements\, duties of RFE and regulatory mechanism.\n\nSpeake
