  curtain wall systems in residential buildings\, commercial buildings\, an
 d retails in Hong Kong. With reference to Clause C10.2 of CoP Fire Safety 
 in Buildings 2011\, fire stop separation and continuous smoke seal are req
 uired in a curtain wall system.\n\nFire resistance test report or certific
 ate of fire stop and smoke control test report of smoke seal should be sub
 mitted for the Code compliance. However\, it is important to distinguish t
 he difference between fire stop separation of curtain wall and fire-rated 
 curtain wall.\n\nThe speaker will share the design considerations of curta
 in wall and façade systems from the selection of material to the applicat
 ion and the practicality of different systems. The design\, application an
 d practice consideration for fire stop and smoke seal will be discussed in
  this session. Latest development and innovative glass technology will be 
 also covered in the webinar.\nSpeaker\nIr Dr. Dominic Yu is a research eng
 ineering-based specialist in the structural design and use of glass. He is
  Principal of Alpha Consulting Limited\, providing consultancy services on
  glass and facade engineering\, non-linear integrated design and analysis\
 , structural fire engineering analysis and design\, steel and composite de
 sign etc. Dr. Yu is a Part-time Lecturer in Fire Safety Engineering Progra
 mme of University of Central Lancashire &amp\; CityU SCOPE. He is also a V
 isiting Lecturer for MSc Module of Façade Engineering in the Civil Engine
 ering Programme at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before joining Al
 pha Consulting Limited\, Dr. Yu served as a Specialist Test Consultant and
  Approved Signatory of Research Engineering Development Façade Consultant
 s Limited (RED Façade and Fire HOKLAS Testing Laboratory).\n\nDr. Yu obta
 ined Doctoral Degree of Philosophy in Structural Engineering\, Master Degr
 ee in Fire Safety Engineering\, and Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering. 
 He worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Civil and Structura
 l Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to serve as a Techni
 cal Secretary of the consultancy study contributing to the “Code of Prac
 tice for the Structural Use of Steel 2005” and the 2011 version. He also
  compiled the Explanatory Materials of the Steel Code for Buildings Depart
 ment. Dr. Yu is Professional Consultant for Consultancy Study of “Code o
 f Practice for Structural Use of Glass 2018” for Buildings Department.\n
 \nDr. Yu is also actively serving the industry and the university by deliv
 ering various technical seminars and lectures. He delivered over 120 techn
 ical seminars in various institutions including HKIE\, HKISC\, HKIS\, RICS
 \, HKICW\, CASA\, HKFA\, HKPA\, BD\, ArchSD\, HD\, etc.\, in which over 90
  seminars since 2012 for the topics related to “Glass and Façade Engine
 ering” including Statutory Requirements\, Analysis\, Design\, Testing\, 
 Quality Control\, Production\, Practical Consideration\, Installation and
